Come to Jam and help solve the mystery! Where IN the world is Carmen?

Spring Jam!

Hola, mis guapos amigos,

Our Spring Jam theme has been decided, location confirmed, and guest group invited! The final big performance of our 75th year is going to be a landmark occasion, a live-recorded show on April 20th, and featuring the University of New Hampshire Gentlemen! If you’re on Smith campus, look out for our mysterious mystery unfolding over the next three weeks, and see if you can guess where the concert will be…. We can’t wait to see you there!

We’re Sorry!

I know the blog hasn’t been updated in far too long, but there was just so much singin’ goin’ on that we couldn’t take a break!

This month, the Poofs were featured in a music video for the phenomenal band, Fifth Nation! Check it out!

Next weekend we’ll be heading to Bradford, NH, to the hometown of one of our senior members, Elizabeth. We can’t wait to be back in the Brad, chillin’ with the UNH Gents and bringin’ it all back home.

Poof love, and keep checking back for more news. The blog is back!

Oooh! Aaah…

We’re listening to the tracks off our upcoming CD, “75,” and boy, do they sound terrific! Not to toot our own voice boxes or anything. We’ll be posting CD release updates soon, so check back fo’ mo’!

BEST. DAYZ. EVER.

So many incredible things happened over our reunion weekend, I can’t even begin to list them right now! Suffice it to say, the group is more bonded than ever to its roots, and our love for each other has grown and grown! We have more than one vinyl Poofs record given to the current members during the reunion to prove it, not to mention a super 80s t-shirt we will all be wearing in rotation.

But the Poofs are jumping right back into rehearsals and performances, with our next gig less than a week after our 75th Anniversary, at Bates College with our great friends the Bates Deansmen and the beautiful UNH Gentlemen. See you cats on the Fri!

Keep checking back for a COMPLETE VIDEO of our 75th Anniversary Concert!

Thanks and incredible love to all the alumnae who we met this weekend!

SMIFFENPOOFS LXXV

It’s all happening! Start the engines in your planes, check the oil in your car, and don’t leave the kids at home. Alumnae Weekend is coming up! Here at Smith we’re gearing up for the 75th, too, fine-tuning our repertoire and getting our voice boxes in shape. For Halloween we’re all dressing up as “time.” It’s mostly coming across as Flava Flav, but we’re trying.

To all the alumnae who have gotten in touch with me about the concert, Thank You! It’s been incredible talking to so many of you. Remember, if anyone has any video recordings from past years, please send them along! We’re still looking for clips to include in the show.

See you next weekend!

And after all that…

Here we are! Emily, Abbie, Ali, Moo and myself all got the chance to stay in Virginia another night after our van was diagnosed with undrivability, or “lack of brake pad” syndrome in layman’s. Thanks again to AVP for saving us and showing us a great time! Can’t wait to return all favors given (hinthintcomeherenow).

Montage is coming up and we remind everyone on Smith campus to attend with their families! JMG, 8pm, Saturday night! Boy do we love our moms & pops.

On Our Way

Como se dice, “rage”?

Poofs are going to VIRGINIA WOOHOO! Stopping in New Hope, Pennsylvania (when will someone else laugh at the fact that it’s called “New Hope.” Anyone? No Star Wars fans? OK then. Fine. I mean, whatever) tomorrow night to sleep and sing for a bit, then takin’ the long way to the Academical Village People‘s Fall Concert, “AVP Presents Prevents Forest Fires.” It sure is a trek down there, but get this– they’re the first group ever to actually provide a gluten free meal for our resident glutard, Elizabeth Forgiel! So sweet, right? Can’t wait to see you guys and dance in the first big performance of our semester. I mean, sing, ya know. Whatever. I’m over it.
